After a progressive corporate finance career with three highly regarded corporations, Mike served as the chief financial officer of a public health care organization. As its CFO, he incorporated the value of integrity, the importance of solid relationships and the discipline of hard work to help lead the turnaround of the company. During this process, Mike found greater satisfaction in helping others to grow personally and professionally than in the 10-fold increase in shareholder value. Soon afterwards, he was inspired by advice that would change the direction of his career: Combine three things – what you are good at, what you like to do and what you are passionate about—and you will prosper in your career. It became clear that he should link his personal and professional skills with his passion of helping others achieve their ultimate potential. From this seed grew the idea to impact the hearts of others through one-on-one and small group relationships. IRIS Impact Group was founded in 2002. Mike, who holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, continued his education through the Coaches Training Institute. In addition to his corporate experience, he has served as a family pastor, youth leader, school board member and township trustee. He currently works as a consultant with inner-city ministries as well as with a number of agencies in his community. Mike lives in Lake Zurich, Illinois with his wife Diane and daughters, Katie and Molly. |
